Gratitude Wednesday.

Since reformatting my blog posts to Wednesday's only, "Gratitude Monday," will now fall midweek from time to time. While I still maintain a daily gratitude practice, sometimes I like to blog about it to show you just how easy it is, and how the silliest things can start your day off on the right foot. So for today, start your day with 3 things that come to mind when you think about gratefulness. It just feels so goooooood.

Here we go!

1) As you know I recently moved back to NY in December. I started teaching within a week and have finally nestled into a schedule that feels good for right now. Well, LET ME TELL YA 'BOUT Y7! I am so grateful for them because we have STAFF MEETINGS. In the form of "refresher," classes. Where, once a quarter, we get together with our co-workers, catch up, and LEARN. As yoga teachers it is very easy to get into the habit of going into a studio, teaching, leaving. We are considered Independent contractors and it can feel very alone at times when studios treat it as that. Left to our own devices is lovely and the autonomy is something I'm also grateful for, however, when it comes to yoga, something I learned along the way is that human connection with your peers is vital. Staff meetings are not only helpful to a teacher, but as a studio owner, it shows us you CARE. It shows you're protecting your brand, striving for cohesion, and creating a community of healers that feel supported so that the students feel supported, too. I could go on forever, but yesterday I attended my first refresher. It was fun and full of inspiration. Thank you, Amy for your amazing leadership. That 'om,' is still buzzin' in my heart. You know what they say about a small group, of like minded individuals! We can change the world!!

2) Amazon Prime. I can't believe I haven't listed this before, but I think it speaks for itself so I'll leave it at that. Luh you, long time, AP!

3) I'm nursing a pretty bad hip flexor pull at the moment. Baby girl went rock climbing and although very fun, I went a little too hard out of the gate for my first time in years. So while it actually SUCKS so hard, I've shifted my perspective. As a teacher, injuries help us to tailor classes for students with limitations. It gives us a sense of compassion when it comes to those who are just starting or also have injuries. So this hip flexor pull is my teacher these days. It's also allowing me to slow the EFF down. Between working and practicing, and trying to have a social life, I'm tired. SO, I'm grateful that my hip flexor is taking me outta the game for now so I can focus on social stuff and work, and realize that everything happens for a reason. If it wasn't supposed to happen, it wouldn't have happened. I, thankfully, found a new chiropractor. (SAD FACE because I miss Dr Darci so much) But after two visits I trust Dr. Beth will be just as good. As I'm currently icing my hip after a little too much activity yesterday, I'm going to have my second cup of coffee and meditate. I breathe in, I breathe out. Life is good.
