This morning I'm finding it very hard to think of only THREE things to be grateful for on this glorious, 'Gratitude Monday.' A huge chapter in my life ended this weekend and while I'm super emotional to leave all of the dedicated students and clients, I'm so freakin' proud of myself for taking responsibility for my happiness and future. I didn't feel it yesterday, but I woke up this morning and the dread feeling I have in my chest is gone, I'm not exaggerating. There's a quote that comes to mind, "life is 10% of what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it," or something along those lines, and although it took me since March to take action, gone are the days of complaining, sulking, and dreading a particular space that took up so much of my life. And yes, when I feel compelled to share bits and pieces of my story I will, because Anne Lamott once said, "You own everything that happened to you. Tell your stories. If people wanted you to write warmly about them, they should've behaved better." So, although it's Monday and on Monday's we express gratitude, I also wish you ACTION. Love you, LP.
1) I'm grateful for all yoga teachers over the world that actually practice asana. 'Everything is revealed through practice,' and yes it's only 1 of 8 limbs of Yoga but, it confronts you, it humbles you, it helps you to lead your students in safe and effective ways, to guide them from a place of integrity. Is your teacher also a student? Ask!
2) Over the past 2 weeks I've had the opportunity to lead groups of students in two workshops that broke down Vinyasa Flow components with more detail and I'm SO thankful for you for taking time out of your beautiful, Saturday afternoon's to dedicate to your practice. Practice and all is coming.
3) Lastly, thankful for my cousin alerting me to the fact that it's NATIONAL COOKIE DAY!!! A close runner up to National Croissant Day, but I'll take it!! #mmmmcookies.
And one last thing before you go, stay tuned for our Christmas Self Care Advent coming up mid-month! 12 days of SELF CARE to carry you right into the holiday!!
