Foundations of Flow is THIS Saturday! 1-3pm at Yoga Lab. AND you should go. Why? Well there's a Bruce Lee quote that has forever stuck with me, and it's why I believe SO wholeheartedly in the basics of the practice, or the foundations if you will, because a lot of people turn away from the word, "basic." (thats another blog post) BUT, he says..
“I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.”
In Foundations Of Flow we will go over the FOUNDATIONS, 10,000 times. Tadasana, forward fold, lengthening the spine, chatturanga, upward facing dog and downward facing dog. These collective postures make a vinyasa flow, and a vinyasa flow is done up to as many as 25 times per class! By no means is it mundane, and by no means is it just a space filler. Every posture thereafter builds off the Vinyasa Flow and we can find the subtleties of each posture in those 6 movements listed above. And, not so that people can fear US, but so that we can feel SO steadfast on our mat, and continue to grow from there.
Whether you are a seasoned yogi, or just starting, these movements continue to evolve, they never end and it is always in your best interest to practice, and practice again, and then again. I hope to see you there! Love you, LP.
