My parent's house is currently a scene from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and I couldn't be happier about it!! Since I flew in, my dad and I have been busy chopping, peeling, and measuring, while my mom bosses us around and makes sure to let us know how to precisely prepare the side dishes for the big day. Last night my aunts, uncles, cousins and grandma, got here. Rather than going out, my talented mother had even more homemade food for us ready to go. How does she do it? Trying my best to take notes. Up bright and early, my mom and I just finished making breakfast for everyone while the family still sleeps. We all plan to go for a turkey trot together before commencing ZA FEAST! Best day ever! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. July 4th is a close runner up, but I love the gathering of family, less the stress of gift giving, and ALL the food.
