Be Your Own WCW!

Okkk, arm twisted. Haha! Turning the lens on me and taking some time to answer the 5 questions I typically ask to the empowering women in my community! How are you your own WCW? Take a little time today to acknowledge your bad-assery.

What line of work are you currently in?

I am a yoga teacher. Full time. UGH. Feels so good to say that, knowing the path it took to get here, and stay here. I have my Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling and my license in Mental Health Counseling, as well as Certified Rehab Counseling. I always find a way to blend the two together when I'm teaching. I love seeing the physical body flourish when we start to acknowledge deeper rooted issues, that are more often than not emotional. Stay tuned as I'll be adding a new service, in addition to private yoga lessons, I will also be offering a private for therapeutic yoga. Shoulder pain? Lets explore why. Stiff outer hip? Let's dig deeper. Talk therapy blended with movement, MAGIC. If you are interested in scheduling, email me!

What's your best piece of health advice for women?

Welcoming in and being consistent with a self-acceptance practice, daily. We hear a lot about self-love, however, it's really hard to love something you judge or shame daily. So, before love, comes acceptance, OF IT ALL. The acknowledgement of how OK you are in this exact moment in time. (because I don't like using the P word) How might you incorporate that? Thought stopping, first. When you catch yourself spiraling into self criticism. Picture a big red STOP SIGN. Take a deep breath. Redirect your thought. And not to, "you're a beautiful, flower, etc" but more so, "hey, good job, you caught yourself moving to the irrational side, I'm proud of you for stopping and taking a deep breath. you're good. begin again." Eventually the catching of yourself will become more frequent, so less time spent in critique, more time spent for doing things you like. DAILY PRACTICE.

What's your favorite type of self-care?

Being alone. I fill that alone time with different things, but I need a solid hour to myself every single day. Also, listening to music. It's medicine.

What's the best piece of life advice passed down to you from your mother or a maternal figure?

Be mindful of your financials always. Do not spend frivolously. (Maybe that's why I'm always falling for Jewish men? lol #woah)

What's your current favorite blog, Instagram page, podcast or website?

My favorite blogs, included MysticMamma and BulletProof Coffee. Podcasts include WellFed Women, GirlsGoneWod, David Asprey's BulletProof Radio, Kathryn Hansen's Brain Over Binge, and Balanced Bites.

Since I'm currently taking a break from social media (FB, Insta and Snap), I'm just blogging for now. If you need to reach me email me at Lindsay.PIrozzi@gmail.com.
