My WiFi was fixed this past Friday! It's wild to think that even though Hurricane Irma was over a month ago, the town is still experiencing hiccups here and there. Regardless, I'm thankful, on Gratitude Monday, that I can blog again! I do feel a bit scattered in regards to my approach, how or what to post, because looking back I feel I did not share too much about my evacuation trip home, and then my feels regarding Vegas, fires in CA, Eminem, Harvey Weinstein, etc, but in the same breath I don't want to. I start to write a post and there's no "umpfh" behind it. I use this blog as a tool for sharing things I am passionate about. I'll continue to post on things that make me feel good and if one day my words travel to those topics, so be it. That does not mean I am not processing those issues in other outlets, because ALL THE FEELS, for sure.
Monday. New! Even though we don't need a Monday to begin again, it just feels so empowering when it arrives, even if you aren't starting anything out of the ordinary! On Monday's though....we are GRATEFUL. What are three things you're thankful for?! As my favorite Naples Family (Syd, Craig, and their adopted son Taylor,) would say, "errrrrWEgo," aka "Here We Go!"
1) My parents recently went on a trip to Italy, however due to airplane and travel issues, they ended up in Amersterdam, and then France. They decided to stay in France due to only having a week and a half. Instead of spending the majority of time traveling, they enjoyed their time in Paris. While there, they bought me a generous gift that I had wanted for Christmas but then instructed them not to buy because it was too much. While I am grateful for this gift, it is a beautiful designer bag, I am more grateful for the emotional shit storm and turmoil it caused me. When hearing this news I was sent into a tailspin of emotions around self-worth, which I didn't even know existed. Why is worth such a hard pill to swallow? Why is it so hard for me, and maybe most women, to accept and own their success and feats? When did I begin to put all of this pressure and critique on myself? So while, it was a tiring week of exploring these questions, it was most certainly eye opening.
2) FRIENDS. I am so grateful for friends near and far. Particularly a few friends in Naples, that helped me with a very big project this weekend. More to come in the future regarding the project! Thank you, again!!
3) PUMPKIN everything. I could write a list of all the pumpkin/fall thangs that are currently in my life, but it would take up this entire blog. Pretty much the only thing without pumpkin right now is my toothpaste. So, someone get on that. Thanks.
Don't waste anymore time, what are you grateful for right meow? Love you, LP.
