This week I'd like to introduce you to Mikaela Latimer. I met her through Lululemon, but we became friends fast. I'm inspired by her drive for health and fun, she mixes the two so it rarely ever feels like working out when you're with her. She is the definition of goal crusher and she does it without complaints. Her most recent achievement was completing and PR'ing The SeaWheeze half marathon in Vancouver, last weekend! Between juice dates, workout sessions or beach walks I'm very thankful to know her and you should too! Love you, LP.
What line of work are you currently in?
I am the Assistant Store Manager at lululemon in Waterside Shops #joblove. You can find me on instagram at https://www.instagram.com/marvelousmikaela/
What's your best piece of health advice for women?
Don't worry about what you "should" be doing when it comes to fitness. Find something you love so that it's fun and you'll be more consistent. Also, if you want to eat something, do it!!.. in moderation. You've gotta live your life, and you'll never stick to something if it's not enjoyable.
What's your favorite type of self-care?
I love a good massage after a long race. It's the only time I'll splurge and get one.
What's the best piece of life advice passed down to you from your mother or a maternal figure?
Friends, family, and lovers will come and go. You're the only constant in your life, so you'd better make sure you love yourself.
What's your current favorite blog, Instagram page, podcast or website?
Lately I've been really into Sarah Knight's books called Get Your Sh*t Together and The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving A F*ck, which originally started with my curiosity about minimalism. Check out Sarah's TEDx talk here: https://youtu.be/GwRzjFQa_Og. I love her no B.S. approach to creating a life you love by choosing where to invest your time, energy, and money.
I also love Juli Bauer Roth on https://www.instagram.com/paleomg/. She makes healthy eating delicious, plus she's got great style.
